Let me start by bringing you up to speed with what I've got going on as of late. I have been tackling two productions for my final demo reel at post secondary. I attend Center for Arts and Technology.
My first and most developed project is "The Foundry"
It's a 3D steampunk/industrial forge scene, consisting of props and a foundry worker. The centerpiece is a boiler chandelier crawling up the walls into the roof.
The scene contains mechanical elements based on the functions of actual steam power machines!
Pipes, hydraulics, gear work and coal furnaces litter the mechanical components. I want this to look like it would actually operate.
The scene has a metal works and casting section...
...along with a wood working setup.
I also have various tools you might find laying around a creators work shop.
I've already started using Quixel to apply and customize professional grade textures...
...and the models were done in maya.
I started the project a little over a month ago...
...and have spend between 5 and 14 hours a day working on it with all the spare time I get! Before I'm finished, I intend to get a glass blowing station, kiln and potters wheel modeled as well. Wish me luck, It's gonna get busy!
My second project is an organic 3D model and is a take on a character from the MLP series by Hasbro.
It's Ember!
Shes not as far along yet, but i intend to get her UVs finished and get her rigged and textured in the later half of my final quarter at school. I will be animating her with a flight cycle and fire breathe.
I'm also mulling over adding Spike but may not get to due to the time crunch.
Please feel free to leave feedback and comments! I'm open to all forms of company ^^
